The Crocker College Consulting Philosophy

College planning today is a very different experience than what parents had as students or even than it was ten years ago. As the population of college attending students has grown and competition and costs have soared, there is an increased importance of selecting a quality and meaningful education.

As a professional educational consultant, admissions reader, former marketer and mother of two sons who attend college, I am intimately familiar with the college selection and application process. It has grown into a complex, complicated and competitive enterprise; however, I can offer strategies to help families navigate their way.

My role at Crocker College Consulting is to provide insight and guidance to students and their families by mapping out a personalized plan based upon the student's educational and personal goals. I care about identifying schools that are a good match to the student and will guide the family to assure an effective college search with minimal stress and anxiety.

While I can present appropriate lists, make recommendations, offer strategies and alternative options, and help the families make the best decisions, it is critical that the family work together and help their student take responsibility and ownership of the decision making process. I believe that this is an exciting time of personal growth for students and want them to avoid much of the unnecessary pressure associated with the process.
